Why the controversy?
The practice has received mixed opinions over the years.
Some argue changing the clocks can upset the rhythm of sleep, which can lead to health problems.
European MPs also voted to end summer time clock changes in 2019 following a public consultation showing 84 percent of respondents were in favour of scrapping the biannual clock changes.
However, it’s been said that darker mornings in winter would be more unsafe and some industries, such as agriculture, rely on there being more sunlight to work in.
The practice is still up for debate, but for now, make the most of the longer summer days!
