Star Wars’ Lando Calrissian Series Is Definitely Still Happening

The Star Wars Lando Calrissian series is definitely still in the works at Disney, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed.

Speaking to IGN at Star Wars Celebration, Kennedy revealed that the long dormant show (probably) starring Donald Glover is still happening, though didn’t share much as to when we might see more.

“I can just tell you it’s still happening, and he’s very excited about it,” she said, all but confirming that Glover is definitely on board.

The actor, who is expected to reprise his role as Lando from Solo, said earlier this month that he and Lucasfilm are talking about the show, though joked he couldn’t say much more without “Kathleen Kennedy hunting me down.”

Lucasfilm and Disney haven’t said a thing about the series, simply titled Lando, since it was announced in December 2020 though. “The galaxy’s favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian, will return in Lando, a brand-new event series for Disney+,” it said at the time. “Justin Simien is in the early stages of developing the project.”

Fans were kept titillated thanks to little hints here and there though, such as it being noticeably absent from Disney’s list of scrapped projects in March 2023.

The latest Lando update is just the latest in a long, long line of Star Wars news to come out of the weekend, with Disney announcing three brand new films alongside giving a ton of updates on upcoming shows. IGN’s full interview with Kennedy will be published later today, so stay tuned for more.
