Storm star Justin escapes suspension for ‘stupid’ hit in Manly loss

Three players face time on the sidelines following Friday night clashes in the NRL.

Melbourne’s Tui Kamikamica, Manly winger Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega and Roosters forward Nat Butcher face bans after being charged by the NRL match review committee.

The Storm had three players charged during the clash with Manly, with Kamikamica facing a two-game ban for dangerous contact.

Centre Justin Olam escaped with an $1,800 fine for dangerous contact on Daly Cherry-Evans while back-rower Trent Loiero was penalised $1,000 for a careless high tackle.

Sea Eagles winger Tuaimalo Vaega was also hit with a grade two shoulder charge on Cameron Munster and will miss two games with an early guilty plea.

Roosters’ forward Butcher received a grade two dangerous contact charge for a tackle on Briton Nikora in the 15th minute against the Sharks which carries a one-game ban.

If Butcher contests the charge and is found guilty at the judiciary he’ll miss two games.

Fellow Rooster Brandon Smith was hit with a grade one careless high tackle charge which carries a $3,000 fine.
