Succession’s Nicholas Braun says he was ‘set up’ in ‘weird’ interview | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Nicholas Braun, 34, has been busy promoting the final season of Succession and most recently was interviewed for Australia’s The Sunday Project.

However, the chat hit headlines for the wrong reasons after the actor was asked to explain his meeting with director Quentin Tarantino, but was cut off mid-interview by the show’s hosts.

The actor has now broken his silence on the matter, pointing out that he was asked to tell the story but was then told minutes later he was out of time.

Nicholas explained to the Daily Telegraph: “I had this guy yelling in my ear saying there was a minute left and all this stuff, then they asked me to tell the story about Quentin Tarantino.

“I must have had only like 20 seconds left. I was set up to just yell at the end.”

Nicholas concluded that the interview as a whole was “weird” but wished he had been given “a few more minutes” to finish the interesting tale.

During the segment, the TV star explained that he had seen the Pulp Fiction director on a plane back in 2005, when he was a child star fresh from Disney’s Sky High, alongside the late Kelly Preston.

He told presenters Sarah Harris and Hamish Macdonald: “So I saw Quentin and he was in first class and I walked past him. And when I got to my seat I was like, ‘I have to do something, I have to say something to Quentin’.

“So I ripped the [movie] ad off the back of the magazine and I brought it to Quentin and I was like, ‘Hi Quentin, you don’t know me but this is me here on this ad. The movie is about time travel and these kids who are flying through the time-space continuum in snow suits’…”

At this point, host Sarah interjected, stopping Nicolas from telling the rest of the story, telling him they were “running out of time”.

Nicholas replied: “I know, we’ll wrap it up, it’s a very important story.”

Sarah said urgently: “We’ve got to go!”

He tried to finish: “But anyway Quentin took it and it was an amazing moment for us.”

Nicholas took it in his stride, telling the hosts he looked forward to meeting them in person the next time he was in the country before the segment ended.

The actor stars as Cousin Greg in Succession, the bumbling but lovable Roy family underdog, in the show.

Succession creator Jesse Armstrong announced last month that the show will culminate after the 10-episode run.

Express.co.uk has contacted a spokesperson for presenter Sarah Harris for comment.
