Pyre Rakna-Kadaki is a fire subspecies of the standard Rakna-Kadaki, introduced in Sunbreak. Its body is covered in a dark red webbing resistant to fire weapons. This beast deals lots of damage with its strong fire offensives and also relies on Pyrantulas, small Temnocerans with powerful explosive attacks. Once you defeat or capture this monster, however, you will obtain great rewards for crafting new equipment.

Pyre Rakna-Kadaki: Characteristics
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki is a Temnoceran with a threat level of 7 stars out of 10. You can find this beast in the Lava Caverns and the Citadel. Its forelimbs can produce heavy explosions and expand the explosive area with the small yet powerful Pyrantulas.
When you start fighting against Pyre Rakna-Kadaki, it will mainly use its threads to prevent you from moving and send Pyrantulas to damage you with explosions. When enraged, the monster becomes more aggressive and starts attacking you with strong melee offensives. You will notice the beast has entered this phase by looking at its giant, glowing-red abdomen.
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki: Weaknesses
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki’s head is the weakest part of its body, followed by the legs and abdomen. The head, however, can be tough to reach with most weapons, so you should mainly focus on its legs when covered in thread and, once you cut it all, start hitting the abdomen. This way, the beast will spread fewer Pyrantulas around.
Regarding elements, the monster is weak against Water damage, followed by Ice. As for ailments, it’s vulnerable to Stun and Waterblight, while Poison is ineffective against it. Before starting the quest, you should equip a weapon with high Water damage stats to deal the most damage to the beast. And don’t forget to choose fire-resistant armor, as the monster likes to cause many explosions.
How to Beat Pyre Rakna-Kadaki
During the battle, this monster will often summon Pyrantulas connected to it by a thread and ignite them to cause a massive explosion. Try to maintain a certain distance from the beast when you see this happening: you will have enough time to find a safe spot, but the area covered by the attack is huge, and if it catches you, you could also faint.
Be aware of its claw attacks, as well. These are very fast and difficult to avoid, so be prepared to dodge backward. Pyre Rakna-Kadaki can also hit you with powerful jets of flames coming from its mouth, inflicting you with Fireblight. You can cure this status by using a Nulberry.
You need to repeatedly evade its dangerous attacks and focus on its legs and abdomen. Once you deal enough damage to these parts of its body, the monster will eventually topple, and you will have a chance to hit its head repeatedly. Use Wirebugs to escape and attack him from above during the fight, so you can have higher chances of successfully beating or capturing it.
