Survivor Story Trailer Shows Off Merrin, Coruscant and a Lot More Action

0

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches in just a bit over a month, and EA and Respawn Entertainment have dropped a new trailer for the adventure. While this is dubbed a “story trailer,” it’s actually mainly comprised of gameplay, rather than pre-rendered cutscenes. We get a peek at a lot more action, including some combat with various heavy-durty imperial foes and some intense platforming.

From a story perspective, the big reveals are that the game will take us to the Coruscant, which should provide a contrast to the more wild locales we’ve seen thus far, and that Merrin, your ally and possible love interest from Fallen Order, is returning. We also get some hints about how the story of Cal Kestis will join up with the main Star Wars continuity. You can check out the trailer for yourself, below.

Looking pretty good! Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order felt very much like a side story, but this looks like it’s going to be a bigger story that’s more integrated into the greater Star Wars saga. Haven’t been keeping up with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order? Here’s everything you need to know about the game. Meanwhile, here’s a quick recap of the game’s setting…

“Being a direct sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will star former Jedi padawan Cal Kestis again as he attempts to continue staying one step ahead of the Empire’s Inquisitors who are on the hunt for all Jedi, as ordered by Emperor Palpatine with his Order 66. Five years have passed since Cal’s battle against the Second Sister, and the Jedi has grown since, having had to be on the run for so long. His new tale will be darker than before, but he will have plenty of new abilities at his disposal to deal with the hardships ahead, such as five lightsaber stances – Single, Double, Dual Blades, Cross Guard, and Blaster, and an enhanced mastery of the Force that will allow him to slow blaster shots in mid-air or control enemies to make them fight at his side.”

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 on April 28. What do you think? Excited to bust out the ol’ lightsaber again?
