Susan Sarandon, 75, is an advocated to end the death penalty and mass incarceration in America, with a deep rooted interest in politics. The Hollywood actress has come under fire for sharing a post referring to the amount of police officers at a funeral for a fellow police officer.

On the eve of police officer Wilbert Mora’s funeral, Susan tweeted a picture of last week’s funeral procession on Fifth Avenue, with the caption: “I am going to tell my kids this is what facisim looks like.” (sic)

Above the photo, flames surrounded a question, reading: “So, if all these cops weren’t needed for CRIME that day, doesn’t that mean they aren’t needed ANY day?”

The post was originally made by podcaster Danny Haiphong.

Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora were shot dead in East Harlem while responding to a domestic call earlier this month.

Bill then apologised for how the NYPD treated protesters.
