Jun Kazama is back. Jin Kazama’s mother, who seemingly died way back in Tekken 2, will return in Tekken 8 as a playable character, tonight’s Game Awards trailer revealed.
The new trailer includes a closer look at Tekken 8’s gameplay than the original teaser trailer, which served as a tech demo of sorts. In addition to showing off some of the combat, the trailer reveals the new iterations of King, Paul, Lars, Marshall Law, and Jack-8.
It’s Jun though who will garner the most scrutiny though, as her return finally confirms multiple fan theories that she was in fact alive all along. The trailer ends with Tekken’s 8 tagline: “Fist Meets Fate.”
Tekken 8 was first revealed earlier this year, and was subsequently confirmed to be an Unreal Engine 5 game in an exclusive interview with IGN. It will star Jin Kazama as he battles Kazuya Mishima and attempts to end their conflict once and for all.
