The businesswoman was the programme’s youngest ever contender when she joined the cast aged 23 in 2007. When she left the show, she vowed to “be a millionaire”, by the time she turned 30 years old.

Ghazal is actually about to reach her goal, instead before 40, after a hugely successful tech career at AppDynamics.

AppDynamics is a full-stack application performance management and IT operations analytics company based in San Francisco.

Her involvement with AppDynamics lead to incremental growth from £14.7million ($20M) to £110.4million ($150M).

She is currently head of channel sales with Google for Europe, the Middle East and Africa after her stint in San Francisco.

Prior to the show she lived in Glasgow but when she was fired, she landed a job with a global IT company based in London to build experience and commercial skills.

Her experience here helped her lead Meraki’s Global Channel Sales organisation.

The channel was a key contributor in Meraki’s growth from £73.6million ($100M) to £736.4million ($1B) in four years.

Ghazal said she was glad that she “didn’t win the show” as she was able to learn a lot more through her journey.

DON’T MISS

“I had the gift of the gab but The Apprentice made me realise I needed experience and that’s what I think I gained especially going into Silicon Valley.

“Now I’ve gained the experience to back up my talk and that’s why I’ve had such an incredible career post-The Apprentice.

“I don’t think I’d be where I am now if it wasn’t for The Apprentice.

“It allowed me to go to London, I left my job for filming and when I went back, they told me they wanted me to do the job in London.

“I’m glad I stayed on the show as long as I did but I’m also glad I got kicked out when I did.

“I was still young so got my head down and filled the gaps in my experience and it gave me the courage to start my own business.

“I’m glad I didn’t win because I think I learned more from not winning the show.”

Ghazal was fired on episode nine of the third series. This did not stop her as she was determined to start her own busines and succeed.

She set up her own designer fashion business however things did not go to plan, so she was forced to look elsewhere for inspiration.

She said: “I’ll always love fashion but that doesn’t necessarily mean you need to build your career from it. A passion can just be a passion.”
