The New Order Is the Free Game of the Day on Epic Games Store; Resistance is Fruitile Free on Itch.io

Epic Games is giving away one free game every day until the end of December. The store gave away Them’s Fightin’ Herds on December 20, and now Wolfenstein: The New Order is the free day for December 21.

The game will remain up for grabs without any cost until December 21, 9:30 PM IST. Wolfenstein: The New Order is a first-person shooter that came out in 2014. The game is set in an alternate reality of the 1960s where the Nazi regime won World War II and took over the world. The player takes on the role of B.J. Blazkowicz, an American soldier who is trying to fight back against the Nazi rule to bring down the regime.

The game features gunfights against waves of enemy soldiers. These fights become more fun with the variety of weapons available in the game ranging from machine guns to futuristic weapons.

Itch.io is offering Resistance is Fruitile as part of its giveaway. Though it is a shooter like Wolfenstein: The New Order but it is vastly different from Wolfenstein, both in looks as well as gameplay.

If it’s not clear from the name already, the game features fruits as characters. You play as either the bride or the groom at a wedding, armed with a shotgun or a pistol, respectively. Your goal is to rescue your chocolate wedding cake from a group of fruit monsters. The game is played from a twin-stick shooter perspective, meaning that you control the movement of your character with one stick and aim your weapon with the other stick.

Resistance is Fruitile has controller support and local co-op play. The pixel art graphics might appeal to some, so it is worth checking out.
