TL;DR

  • The Nubia Red Magic 7S Pro will soon be available for sale globally.
  • The gaming optimized smartphone is a higher-end version of the early Red Magic 7 and 7 Pro.
  • It will be available for early bird orders August 2 with a starting price of $729.

Several months after Nubia launched the Red Magic 7 and Red Magic 7 Pro smartphone, the company has come out with an updated version, the Red Magic 7s Pro (via Fonearena). The phone was launched in China last month, and will soon be available for sale globally.

Like the Red Magic 7, the 7S Pro will have a big 6.8-inch AMOLED Full HD+ 120Hz refresh rate display and a 960Hz touch sampling rate. However, the new phone will have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, compared to the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 found on the regular Red Magic 7 and 7 Pro. The new phone also has its own dedicated chip for gaming processes not related to graphics, like audio and haptic interactions.

Like the older phones, the Red Magic 7s Pro has a custom cooling system that will keep the phone from overheating while you play games. There have been some improvements to this system, including a graphene heat storage plate and an expanded Vapor Chamber. The phone also includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a 5,000mAh battery with support for up to 65w wired charging for the global version.

The phone also has an under-display 16MP front-facing camera along with a main 64MP rear camera, an 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera.

The Red Magic 7s Pro will have a starting price of $729/ €779 / £669 for the version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage with an Obsidian color option. You can also get the phone with 18GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for $899/ €949 / £809 in Mercury and Supernova. The Mercury option includes a transparent sliver back to show off some of the phone’s inner workings.  Early bird sales begin on August 2, with the official sales launch on August 9.
