The Roku Channel is adding 35 free movies in September – here’s the full list

Every month, streaming services add dozens of new TV shows and movies to their libraries. They do this in order to keep their subscribers around and entice new ones into signing up. But no matter how exciting these additions may be, there are far too many services for any of us to subscribe to them all. Thankfully, paid services aren’t the only choices — many free alternatives have started popping up all over. One of the best options is The Roku Channel, and the service is adding a bunch of free movies to its library in September.

The Roku Channel added 27 new movies back in August, including Apollo 13 and Paddington 2. Another 35 movies are joining the library in September. Some of the highlights next month are Superman, The Departed, Joe Dirt, and Groundhog Day.

They are all free to watch on The Roku Channel. You can access The Roku Channel on nearly any smart device. The service is also available online at TheRokuChannel.com.

In addition to on-demand movies and shows, The Roku Channel also features a number of live channels. These include ABC News Live, Family Feud, Real Crime, Fubo Sports Network, Movie Favorites by Lifetime, and WeatherNation.

• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993) – When their closest friend April O’Neil discovers an ancient scepter with magical powers, the turtles must cow-a-bunga their way back to 17th century Japan to rescue her from the evil clutches of Lord Norinaga.
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) – When a kingpin threatens New York City, a group of mutated turtle warriors must emerge from the shadows to protect their home.

• Sleepless in Seattle – A recently widowed man’s son calls a radio talk-show in an attempt to find his father a partner.

• The Neighborhood (Seasons 1-4) – A friendly guy from the Midwest tries to fit in in a tough L.A. neighborhood.
• Bones (All 12 Seasons) – Forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan and cocky F.B.I. Special Agent Seeley Booth build a team to investigate murders. Quite often, there isn’t more to examine than rotten flesh or mere bones.
• Bull (Season 6 – All seasons now available) – Brilliant, brash, and charming, Dr. Bull is the ultimate puppet master as he combines psychology, human intuition, and high-tech data to learn what makes jurors, attorneys, witnesses, and the accused tick.
