The safest country for British expats has the ‘greatest healthcare’ in Europe – full list | Travel News | Travel
A recent study by William Russell analysed the level, quality and freedom of healthcare across the world. They studied factors such as access to abortions, euthanasia legality, access to universal healthcare and the legality of medicinal cannabis, and revealed the country with the greatest health freedom is Switzerland.
British expats will find the greatest overall freedom in Switzerland when it comes to managing their own health, as it has free universal healthcare, legal medicinal cannabis, active voluntary euthanasia and readily available abortion services.
A total of nine countries do not have a universal healthcare system in place, the majority of these countries are in Eastern Europe, including Latvia.
This means that falling ill in some countries can end up being an expensive affair for Britons.
