Qualcomm recently unveiled its next-generation wearable platforms — Snapdragon W5 and W5+ platforms designed to power upcoming smartwatches. In the official press note, the company also confirmed that Oppo and Mobvoi will be the first brands to launch their smartwatches based on these two chipsets.
Soon after Qualcomm’s announcement, Mobvoi teased its next-generation smartwatch confirming that it will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest W5+ Gen 1SoC. Although, the smartwatch isn’t expected to launch until later this year. But it could be the first smartphone to feature a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset.
According to the report, the upcoming TicWatch will likely be the successor of the TicWatch Pro.
While not much is known about the upcoming TicWatch, the company has been confirmed to launch the watch with WearOS. Although the version hasn’t been officially released, we are assuming it is going to be the latest version of Wear OS.
In addition, Oppo is also confirmed to be working on a smartwatch based on Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip. The upcoming smartwatch from the company is likely to be called Oppo Watch 3. However, Oppo hasn’t revealed anything about the watch officially as of now.
