Tango Gameworks recently announced that the critically acclaimed action-adventure game Ghostwire: Tokyo will join the Xbox Series consoles. And now, players will be able to experience the supernatural journey alongside PlayStation and PC players. Additionally, the game will receive a new update that will bring many additions to the main story campaign, including a new game mode with a massive gauntlet challenge that will test players’ skills as they put their supernatural skills to their limits.

First, let’s get the big news out of the way. Ghostwire: Tokyo will now be available on Xbox Series X|S, and players can access the game through Xbox Game Pass. The Xbox version of Ghostwire: Tokyo will include every update made to the game since its original release, meaning that Xbox players will be able to fully experience the game without any issues.

A new mode is also going to be available for Ghostwire: Tokyo through the newly released Spider’s Thread Update. This new update adds new locations to visit in the ghost-riddled streets of supernatural Tokyo, including the eerie Middle School area. There’s something ominous in session inside those classrooms. The game will also have a “Reduced Horror Effects” setting for more squeamish players which will replace certain psychic effects with adorable stickers.

Additionally, Ghostwire: Tokyo players will face a new kind of challenge in the titular Spider’s Thread mode. This new mode which is separate from the main game will let players push through a 30-stage gauntlet assembled from over 130 handcrafted levels with the goal of reaching the end. This roguelike mode will have players start back from the beginning should they be defeated. However, subsequent runs will have them conserve a portion of their upgrades.

The new challenge will require an expansion of the game’s skills and thankfully, Akito will be prepared to face the supernatural better than before with the Ghostwire: Tokyo Spider’s Thread update. Now, Akito will have access to new combat skills like the Counter-Attack to follow up a successful block, Quick Dodging to evade enemy attacks, and the Charge Rush, an evolution of your Ethereal Weaving technique that allows you to augment your Palm Strike into an elementally charged melee strike.

The Spider’s Thread update will also bring an expansion for the game’s Photo Mode which includes stamps to overlay on your images alongside models (which have to be unlocked in gachapon machines scattered throughout Tokyo) that you can use for supernatural selfies. This new update will come packed with new areas to explore, new skills, and great quality-of-life fixes. So, make sure not to miss out on them. Ghostwire: Tokyo is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
