Chet Hanks, son of Hollywood stars Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, has opened up about his family life. The actor, 31, shared how “privileged” he has been to grow up with the Hollywood actors but admitted it also came with some “toxic” elements.

Chet, who has acted previously in shows like Empire and Shameless, shared the insight in a YouTube video.

He opened up in the clip called “The Truth About Growing Up As A Hanks” on February 14.

Chet said while he was very “blessed” with his experiences growing up, this was a “double-edged sword”.

The actor explained: “There’s a lot of advantages but sometimes it can be pretty weird.

Speaking about his perception as “arrogant, entitled and spoiled” he opened up about this.

Chet said he “didn’t have a strong male role model to tell me, ‘Bro, f*** these people, they are just jealous of you’.”

In his candid video, he also promised he would share the “truth” about Hollywood on his channel.

Chet is the third child of Tom and his firstborn with his wife Rita.
