Tom Parker, 33, died in March this year following an intense battle with a brain tumour. The Wanted star left behind his two children and their mum who has been open about the emotional impact of their first holiday season without Tom.

On Christmas Eve, Kelsey, 32, shared a precious throwback photo on Instagram featuring her son, daughter and the late singer.

She penned a heartbreaking tribute to her husband, sharing a deeply personal insight into her new experience of the holiday season.

Kelsey said it’s the “littlest things” during this time of year that “now feel so huge” without Tom around.

She explained: “Going food shopping – no need to buy your Christmas favourites this year.

“Setting places at the table.

“Writing gift tags just from mummy,” she penned with a broken heart emoji.

Kelsey continued, adding she had “been dreading” Christmas this year and even tried “putting Christmas off”.

However, she noted: “But it’s for the kids, they’ve always been my reason to get up each day and find the positives, and never has that been more true than this week.

“There’ll be empty chairs tomorrow and tears, but there’ll also be smiles, laughter and dancing – just as you would’ve had it.”

She signed off the post with the hashtag #PostiveParkersForever.

Almost instantly the post garnered hundreds of thousands of likes and nearly as many comments showing a startling amount of love, support and festive cheer.

Irish singer RuthAnne told Kelsey: “He would be so so proud of you” while fans said they would be “raising a glass” for Tom on Christmas Day.

Kelsey also took to her Instagram story as she sat at a full table at a restaurant. The actress poignantly captioned the clip: “Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people who want you in their lives.”

On Christmas Day, Kelsey turned the focus to her children, sharing adorable snaps and clips of two-year-old Bhodi and three-year-old Aurelia with their freshly unwrapped presents.

Sharing a sweet snap with Santa Claus, Kelsey wished her 376,000 Instagram followers a Merry Christmas and gave some words of advice and encouragement for others facing a difficult holiday.

She wrote: “Thank you to everyone who has commented and sent messages this year. I do read them all and having so much support really means the world.
