Rachel Stevens, 43, was in the iconic noughties band S Club 7 from 1998 till 2003, with the group coming together again for a year in 2014. The Dancing on Ice star has revealed that her time in the group took a “toll”, with her still seeing a therapist.

During the band’s time they achieved pop stardom with Number One singles such as Don’t Stop Movin’ and Never Had a Dream Come True.

When the group split in 2003, they cited a mutual split, expressing to the BBC it was simply a time “to move on and face new challenges”.

Talking to andPop in 2004, bandmate Hannah Spearritt admitted they were “completely exhausted” while in the group.

Speaking to The Sun, Rachel said that she “got very good at putting on a show face and putting a lid on things”.

All of the band reunited for an appearance on Children in Need in 2014 and their major Bring It All Back tour in 2015.

Rachel tried her hand at a solo career after the band’s demise, with hits More More More and Some Girls hitting number two and three in the UK charts.

Her solo career ended after the release of her second album in 2005.

She has featured on many reality shows over the years including Strictly Come Dancing in 2008, Celebrity Masterchef in 2017 and Celebrity Mastermind.

Speaking to The Sun about her latest venture on Dancing on Ice, she told the publication she does not feel she will have an advantage on the show.

She said: “We all come into the show with our own different backgrounds and careers.

“I’m not a trained dancer. And at the end of the day, it’s on ice so no matter what you do, that adds a whole other level of challenge. It’s crazy.”

You can watch Rachel Stevens on Dancing on Ice on Sunday on ITV at 6.30pm.
