Pressure is now increasing on Tottenham to back Conte before Monday’s January transfer deadline.

When replacing Nuno Espirito Santo in November, the Italian coach would’ve wanted assurances over financial backing in the market.

But he is yet to receive a single signing this month as he looks to guide the club to a top-four finish and return to the Champions League.

Spurs are in talks to sign Fiorentina defensive-midfielder Sofyan Amrabat in the coming days, but Conte will ultimately be frustrated to miss out on Traore’s signature.
