Arsenal have reportedly not submitted a bid for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo despite reports of the contrary several weeks ago.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with the Brazilian since the January transfer window as they seek to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
It was claimed earlier in July that a move was close to happening.
However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has insisted that the Premier League club has not made a bid for Arthur. He could instead join Valencia on loan, with his parent club paying most of his salary.
The 25-year-old has struggled for game time at Juventus of late, with Max Allegri preferring a more robust midfield.
