Turkey is one of the UK’s leading winter tourism destinations. British tourists will need to make sure their passport is valid for travel to Turkey.

The UK Government has updated its passport advice for British tourists holidaying in Turkey.

It said: “If you are visiting Turkey, your passport should be valid for at least 150 days from the date you arrive and there should be a full blank page for the entry and exit stamps.”

Britons can find more detail about the requirements to enter Turkey on the website for the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Government added: “If you are a resident in Turkey, your passport must be valid for six months from the date you arrive.

“Check with your travel provider to make sure your passport and other travel documents meet their requirements.”

British tourists will need to have at least 150 days left on their passport from the day they arrive in Turkey.

Britons will have their passport stamped on entry and exit from Turkey and will need to have a full blank page left for it.

Tourists have also been warned not to put any novelty stamps in their passports as this could cause a travel issue.

Some destinations including Machu Picchu offer novelty stamps which tourists can put in their passport.
