“Punting relaunch of Blue Verified to November 29th to make sure that it is rock solid.” said Musk in a tweet, suggesting that the Twitter Blue will once again launch later this month.
Here’s what you get for $8
Musk’s new Twitter Blue entitles users to the ‘blue checkmark’ for $8/month. The ‘subscription’ Blue would give users priority in replies, mentions, and searches. Not just that, they would get half as fewer ads as a non-paying user and can also post long-form videos and audio.
You can’t change your name once you get the ‘blue tick’
One big issue of Musk’s “Blue Verified” has been that anyone with $8 can get a blue tick and impersonate a legitimate account. And the same happened; many fake accounts popped up within hours impersonating big corporations, celebrities, and even Jesus.
Yes, comedy is now legal on Twitter, Even parody accounts. But parody accounts with blue checkmarks could sometimes be confused for the ‘real’ accounts. And when the advertisers are fleeing away, it is important to feel the ones who have stayed safe. So they do not end up losing millions of dollars because of some tweet from a “verified” parody account.
@RationalBlonde With new release, changing your verified name will cause loss of checkmark until name is confirmed… https://t.co/ny25CAz4nd

Musk seems to have considered such things to ensure that other big names do not flee away. So, the next time someone tries to change their name after getting the verification tick, they will lose the tick until it is confirmed to meet the terms of service of Twitter.
Also, there is bad news for the ones who were verified before Musk took over Twitter. So, if you are one of them, and got your tick based on your notability, then be ready to pay $8 per month, else you will lose the tick in a few months, says Musk.
