Twitter testing this new feature for Apple iPhone users

Twitter has announced that it is testing a new feature for Apple iPhone users that will allow them to turn on or turn off captions with a button. As per the company, the feature will also be rolled out for Android users soon. The company announced the move in a tweet from its official handle. “Video captions or no captions, it’s now easier to choose for some of you on iOS, and soon on Android. On videos that have captions available, we’re testing the option to turn captions off/on with a new “CC” button.” the tweet reads.
As per the video shared by the platform, if the feature is rolled out, users will be able to see a new ‘CC’ button at the top right corner of the video. It is worth noting that the button will be only available over the videos that have captions enabled.
Earlier this month, Twitter also rolled out a new accessibility feature that will help users to better understand the content in an image. With the new feature users can see an option at the bottom right corner of the screen. By tapping on it, users can see the image description. Adding image descriptions allows people who are blind, have low vision, use assistive tech, live in low-bandwidth areas, or have a cognitive disability, to contribute on Twitter.
Twitter is also working on a new feature that will allow users to edit a tweet once it is posted. The company will be testing the feature only for Twitter Blue users at first. Netizens first took the company’s announcement as a joke as it was shared on April Fools day. However, the company later elaborated its plans about the feature.
