Valve’s Steam.tv Goes for Real

0

Last week Steam.tv popped out into the gamers world, and just when the people are about to get in touch with this, it suddenly disappeared out of nowhere.  But Valve quickly took over this instance and made a big launch of their new streaming website that is being speculated to take a rival competition with Twitch, and just recently today, Valve has officially announced the Steam.tv.

If you will try to take a look at it now, you will witness the live broadcast of 2018 Dota 2 International event taking place, and some cool features that you can simply notice.  One cool thing about this new launch is that you can have the same experience just like when you are watching some Youtube live stream.  You can also take a look at the highlights of the team battles as it was marked in the timeline, just an exciting feature, isn’t it.  You can also log in with your Steam account and to either join the main chat or create a group with your fellows from your Steam friend list.

Valve isn’t planning just to be stocked at Dota 2 live streams with Steam.tv and client broadcasting.  Valve’s blog post said that, “This Dota 2 centered update to Steam Broadcasting currently includes some custom elements to support The International, after the tournament we plan to extend Watch Party support for all games that are broadcasting on Steam and expose a new broadcast Steamworks API to Steam partners.”

With their massive library of games and user accounts, creating new possibilities on the live streaming is not a hard thing to do.  There is a lot of improvement that we can expect from Valve to take on, just like some reliable tools for Steam clients, developer’s room of improvement for their games, and some other advancements that they may take in order for it to aim some more success.

Whatever changes they make, whatever improvements they do, we will surely take a close look at their steps, and TechnoCodex will surely bring it to you at its fastest pace.
