With an aim to better compete with Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, Vi (Vodafone-Idea) has launched ‘Truly Unlimited Data and Voice Experience’ on its International Roaming (IR) packs. The telecom giant says that the packs come with no hidden condition of ‘speed throttling’, which means that users’ streaming experience won’t hinder after they exhaust their data quota.
“No other IR roaming service from any other operator in India offers unlimited data without speed throttling beyond defined data limits,” Vi said in a statement.
Vi IR packs availability
Vi IR packs are now available for all major travel destinations including the US, the UK, other European nations (such as France, Italy, Germany, Greece etc.), Singapore, Dubai, Thailand, Australia and others, “which account for 90% of the traffic.”

Vi says that its IR packs for postpaid users offer validity from hours to 28 days and “no limit” on data quota for popular travel destinations. The telecom giant says Vi has partnered “with the best service providers in the network destinations” to ensure seamless connectivity.

The pack that offers 28 validity has a rental of Rs 5,999 and it offers 15GB of data, 1,500 minutes of local and ‘to India’ calls, free incoming calls and SMS.
“The ‘Always On’ feature on all Vi Postpaid Roaming Packs ensures that customers do not get charged exorbitant rates while on international roaming even after the expiry of the subscribed pack,” he said.
Vi FIFA World Cup 2022 packs
Vi recently announced four new IR packs exclusively for the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The base pack gets a validity of 7 days and the one with maximum benefits offers a validity of 28 days. The packs offer data connectivity, outgoing calls to India, SMS and other benefits.
