Vivo X Fold 2 likely specifications, launch timeline tipped ahead of official launch

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is reportedly working on its next foldable device — Vivo X Fold 2 — which is expected to launch in China. The phone is likely to come as a successor to the Vivo X Fold+ that was launched in September. According to a report by tipster Digital Chat Station, Vivo is planning to launch the X Fold 2 and the X Flip smartphones in the first half of 2023.
Ahead of the official launch of the Vivo X Fold 2, the tipster has revealed some key specifications of the smartphone. Here are the details.

Vivo X Fold 2: Expected specifications
Vivo X Fold 2 is said to feature a Sony IMX866 primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) technology. The upcoming phone is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Vivo is also reportedly working on reducing the X Fold 2′ weight.
Vivo X Flip: Expected specifications
Vivo X Flip is rumoured to debut soon in the company’s domestic market. The foldable smartphone is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The phone is also said to resemble the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 launched in August.
Vivo X90 series debuts in China
This year, Vivo also unveiled the much-anticipated X90 series in China. The series succeeds the Vivo X80 series launched earlier in May. The Vivo X90 series comprises three models– Vivo X90, Vivo X90 Pro, and Vivo X90 Pro+. The devices feature Zeiss-branded sensors and Vivo’s V2 chip for image processing.
Vivo X90 series price in China
Vivo X90’s price starts at CNY 3,699 (approximately Rs 42,000) for the 8GB RAM+128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM+256GB model is priced at CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs 45,000), the 12GB RAM+256GB model costs CNY 4,499 (approximately Rs 51,000). The top-end variant featuring 12GB RAM+512GB storage comes at a price tag of CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs 57,000).
The Vivo X90 Pro price starts at CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs 57,000) for the 8GB RAM +256GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant costs CNY 5,499 (approximately Rs 62,000). The high-end model with 12GB RAM +512GB storage model is priced at CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs 68,000).

Vivo X90 Pro+ comes at a starting price of CNY 6,499 (approximately Rs 74,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant while the 12GB RAM+512GB model costs CNY 6,999 (approximately Rs 80,000).
Vivo 90 is available for purchase in three colour variants alongside an Ice Blue colour. Vivo X90 Pro and X90 Pro+ are available for purchase in China Red and Original Black colour variants.
