Activision has finally unveiled some official news about the long-awaited sequel to Call of Duty: Warzone.

Dubbed “Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0”, the latest title in the series has been developed by Infinity Ward, and it comes with a ton of new and exciting features that fans would love to sink their teeth into.

Here is a rundown on all the new features that will be present in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Warzone 2.0 gets a bigger map in Al Mazrah

Al Mazrah is massive and it’s filled with several POIs.

With the sequel, Call of Duty players finally receive an entirely new map in the Al Mazrah metropolitan area. The new location is part of the larger Call of Duty universe, as it will also appear in Modern Warfare II, which releases on October 28.

The new map is much bigger than Verdansk, and even though it has a desert terrain, the area is filled with various POIs such as the Observatory, Marshlands, Airport, Fortress, Caves, Quarry, Port, Al Mazrah City and several others.

New vehicles and aquatic combat mechanics

It’s time to go all out attack in Warzone 2.0 with all the new weapons.

Warzone 2.0 will have its fair share of vehicles for players to traverse across Al Mazrah. This includes over a dozen new vehicles like the Light Tank, UTV, Heavy Chopper, Rigid Inflatable Boat and more.

Other than that, the new map features several lakes, rivers and tributaries. So make sure to get your swimsuit, as players will require their swimming skills to come in clutch.

Multiple circle collapses and new Gulag

Multiple safe zones converge into a single safe zone in Warzone 2.0

The circular safe zone in Warzone 2.0 differs massively from its predecessors, as the unpredictable weather of Al Mazrah causes multiple safe zones to pop up at the same time. As time passes, these circles will reduce in size, before it converges into a single safe zone.

Gulag 2.0 goes 2v2.

The Gulag also gets a massive tweak with a 2v2 mode that players will need to take part in. Along with that, players can also use another way to escape, which involves defeating an AI combatant known as The Jailer, who holds the prison keys.

Furthemore, Al Mazrah is filled with AI combatants for players to worry about. Many of these combatants will be holed up in an area known as Strongholds, which will be marked on the map.

Warzone 2.0 gets a DMZ mode of its own

DMZ will be free-to-play with Warzone 2.0

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 also gets an extraction mode called DMZ, which will take place in Al Mazrah. The mode will be free-to-play, and it will release alongside Warzone 2.0.

The new PvE mode will involve players taking part in objectives, which includes looting and destroying AI strongholds before they can extract with all their winnings.

Call of Duty: Warzone will release a few days after the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, with the new Battle Royale experience arriving for free on November 16.
