In 8 days, DC’s big blockbuster in The Batman will arrive on theaters around the world, however, according to director Matt Reeves, fans might not have to wait long for a second film.

Even though the movie hasn’t reached the masses, early screening reviews have been quite positive to the point where The Batman’s inevitable to have a sequel release sometime in the future, and the director recently confirmed that he has been having discussions with the top brass at Warner Bros.

During the movie’s red carpet premiere in London, the entire cast showed up in some stellar fashion with the leads in Zoe Kravitz and Robert Pattinson taking everyone’s breath away.

However, in the end it was director Matt Reeves, who had the big news that fans wanted to hear for a long time, as he confirmed that he has plans to expand his Batverse with future projects during his chat with The Independent.

With the Riddler taking in charge as the primary villain in The Batman, it seems like Reeves has an idea on the villains he want Pattinson’s Batman to face.

So far, both the director and the actor have noted that they would love to feature some of Batman’s most iconic rogues such as Mr. Freeze and the Court of Owls.

Other than the sequel, Warner Bros. has already set plans in motion to showcase more of Gotham with the GCPD show which is currently in development for HBO Max.

Moreover, The Batman even has other characters that might receive a spinoff of their own, as fans would love to see more about Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman or even Colin Farrell’s Penguin.

In the end, with this tiny tidbit from Matt Reeves, it seems like the Dark Knight fandom is about to explode in excitement and they can’t to see what they have in store when The Batman releases this Friday.
