Warning: Spoilers ahead for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrived last week, and just like many predicted, it came with a flurry of surprising cameos that fans have been dissecting ever since.

The movie saw the arrival of The Illuminati, which featured characters like Black Bolt, Captain Carter, Charles Xavier, Mordo and Captain Marvel. However, the most intriguing member of the group was none other Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic.

Played by The Office star John Krasinski, Richards lead the charge against the Scarlet Witch, before being brutally destroyed by the character, who was in search of America Chavez.

With the MCU soon set to introduce the first family of Marvel in a Phase 4 project, Reed Richards’ presence in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens a whole lot of questions that fans want answers about.

The first and the most important question revolves around the group’s casting, as it will be interesting to see if the MCU version of the team will have Krasinski as the genius scientist. Moreover, the movie is set to be the final project of Phase 4. However, we have yet to hear any concrete developments about the flick, since it was announced at the 2019 edition of the San Diego Comic-Con.

Along with that, the project has seen a slight turmoil with the exit of Jon Watts, who was set to direct the movie. Following his departure, Marvel Studios has yet to name a replacement, and it’s currently at risk of being delayed.

The movie’s contents are also a big mystery, as fans wonder whether it will differ from the Earth-838 version of the team. During Reed Richards’ conversation with Scarlet Witch, the character revealed that he has kids, which confirms the existence of Franklin and Valeria Richards in Earth-838.

However, it’s unclear whether the MCU flick will explore their origins or a full-fledged team, which also includes the children as well. If Marvel decide to the take the latter option then Krasinski fits quite well as an experienced Reed Richards alongside his wife Emily Blunt, who is rumored to be taking over the role of Sue Storm. However, it will be hard for Marvel to explore such a story, as the MCU has never mentioned anything about the Fantastic Four or even the Baxter Building, which is quite prominent in the city of New York, where heroes like Spider-Man, Captain America and Doctor Strange reside.

With an origins movie, Marvel will have to introduce a younger group of actors, similar to the one shown in the 2015 reboot of the Fantastic Four, which featured actors like Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell.

In the end, it seems like fans will have to wait a while to know more about the future of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and until then, they might want to brush up by learning about the First Family more by reading runs from Jonathan Hickman, John Byrne and many more.
