WhatsApp Feature: WhatsApp is restoring this feature for Android users

0

In the last few days, WhatsApp changed the interface of the contacts section for Android users who were using the beta version of the app. The Facebook owned platform divided the section in two parts – Frequently contacted and Recent chats. As the name suggests, the frequently contacted part shows users that are often contacted by you and the recent chats part shows users that were recently contacted by you. Now, as per a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is reporting the old contacts list.
The platform has started to roll out a new update for Android users through the Google Play Beta Program. The update brings the version of the app up to 2.22.5.9. The report suggests that WhatsApp is now restoring the old interface after facing backlash from users. The platform has started to roll out the old contact list interface again, but it may take some time before the update is available for everyone.
WhatsApp has also started to change the design of the app window seen during group voice calls for beta users on Android platform. References for the design change were already found in the previous beta updates for iOS and Android users. The company is also adding voice waveforms for all participants during a group call. The voice waveforms are similar to the ones seen in voice notes.
According to the screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, the changes in the design are quite minimal but they provide a refreshed look to the page. The report further suggests that the new design is only rolling out to certain Android beta testers currently, but the platform will expand it to more users in the coming weeks. As the feature is only available in the beta version, it is not yet known when the design will make it to the public release.
