WhatsApp is down for some users in India

WhatsApp is reportedly down for some users in India. Several users from across the globe have already started calling out the outage on Twitter. According to the tweets, users are usually facing issues while downloading the received video from someone.
Downdetector, a platform that tracks the outage reports for almost all online apps and services, has also recorded outage reports from several users and according to the report, the instant messaging platform was down starting April 16 and it is still continuing. Several Twitter posts date back to April 15 as well, where users have reported the same — unable to download received videos — issue.
Going by the report, around 42% users are facing issues with the server connection, 39% have reported outages with the app and 19% are facing issues with sending messages.
TOI-Gadgets Now also checked for the same and it seems out WhatsApp is also down and we failed to download a received video. Although, the problem mainly appears to be affecting WhatsApp Beta testers on Android devices.
What company has to say about the ongoing outage
WhatsApp hasn’t yet acknowledged the ongoing outage or provided any details on what caused this problem with the WhatsApp app. One reason that we could think of if the problem only persists with the beta version is that WhatsApp was testing a new video message feature on the beta version of the app and this could be a reason behind it.
What users can do
The major issue appers to be with downloading the received videos on WhatsApp. In this case you can try downloading the received vidoes using WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop for Windows.
