There’s no questioning the popularity that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has gained all across the globe. She was the reigning queen of the celluloid in the late ’90s and early ’20s and made her presence felt with her great body of work. However, an old interview had surfaced online recently and it revealed the one film that made her truly feel honoured to be called an actress.
As quoted in a leading entertainment portal, the interview has her stating, “I do feel good about the fact that it’s a hit, but I’m even happier and truly content about the fact that people do recognise the efforts and hard work put in. I have earned the title of being called an actress. I have had to wait my time. Miss India happened easy, Miss World happened easy but being called an actress took a bit of time and it feels good to have earned that. That is my true satisfaction. To have that reiterated with a beautiful film like Taal, I couldn’t have asked for a better time,”
Taal was a musical hit in 1999, helmed by Subhash Ghai where she shared screen space with Anil Kapoor.
On the work front, Aishwarya has the much-awaited Ponniyin Selvan by Mani Ratnam in the pipeline. The first poster was dropped a couple of months back and looks extremely promising.
