The son of three-time premiership Lion Marcus Ashcroft is a ball magnet whose impact on the inside and outside of the contest is supreme. He averaged 33 disposals from 22 games for the Sandringham Dragons (NAB League), Victoria Metro (national championships), Australia (AFL Academy) and the Brisbane Lions (VFL). He also won the Larke Medal — awarded to the best player in the national championships — was named captain of the under-18 All-Australian team, was selected as captain of the NAB League team of the year, skippered the Sandringham Dragons’ premiership team and won best on ground in the NAB League grand final. Ashcroft has just about been a full-time footballer in 2022, and takes training, nutrition, sleep, ice baths, strength and stretching incredibly seriously.
