Xbox Series X Might Be Getting a Nifty Upgrade Very Soon

Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s answer to next-gen gaming. Even though it had a rocky start in terms of sales, it has managed to catch up with the numbers of PlayStation 5. Xbox Series X and S have been selling out as soon as units arrive just like PlayStation 5 and individuals still find it difficult to get their hands on a next-gen gaming console.

Now, It seems like Microsoft feels that the whopping power provided in the Xbox Series X is not enough and is reportedly working on an even more powerful chip for the beast. In a recent video posted by Brad Sams on his Youtube, he was asked if Microsoft was working on a new cooler and smaller chip for the Xbox Series X 25 minutes into the video.

To which he replied that this is a possible move by Microsoft as the new chip will have a smaller form factor and also work on power efficiency and cooling. Having a smaller chip will also help Microsoft cut costs. Although a smaller chip might be in the works, he does not feel that the bulky form factor of the Xbox Series X will go through a change anytime soon.

He also mentions that Microsoft is also working on revisions of the chips for next iterations of their ongoing products. These revisions wont provide any performance upgrade as such, but work on providing power efficiency and cooling. The reason Microsoft works on them mostly is to cut down on production costs for the company.

He goes on to say that Microsoft is definitely working a smaller and power efficient chip, but does not know whether they will be using the TSMC Node or what date will they be planning to release new chip Xbox Series X models, but players can be assured that there is one on the way for sure.
