Xiaomi has launched its first gaming-focused smartphone dubbed as BlackShark gaming phone, under its subsidiary brand, ‘BlackShark’, back in April this year. The company now seems to be working on second-gen Black Shark gaming smartphone as it is found listed on Chinese compulsory Chinese certification authority, TENAA.
As per TENAA listing, the Black Shart 2 gaming smartphone carries the model number AWM-A0 and will support TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, cdma2000, CDMA 1X and GSM standards. TENAA further reveals that the phone measures 160 x 75.26 x 8.7 mm. It has 5.99” multi-touch display and is fuelled by 4000 mAh battery.
Its overall design is quite similar to its predecessor. The only noticeable difference is the relocation of the fingerprint scanner and the alignment rear camera setup. The fingerprint sensor has now been moved to the back and the rear camera setup is now vertically aligned. There is also the Black Shark (S) Symbol at the back of the device like its predecessor. it seems to carry a power button on the left, while the volume rocker and a dedicated one-touch SHARK key for enhanced gaming experience (also seen in predecessor) can be seen on the right side of the device.
As of now, there is no information about the hardware of the device. However, it is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 845 processor since the original model had unveiled less than six months ago. It is expected to be equipped with 8GB LPDDR4X memory + UFS 2.1 flash memory like the predecessor. However, the company is now expected to optimize the software and screen resolution for better gameplay experience. Xiaomi could also launch a new controller with the Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone.
