Zoom’s new plan to take on Google, Microsoft and others

Everyone knows Zoom; a lot of the working-class population would have used it someday or other in the last few years. But we know Zoom as a video conferencing app, taking on Google Meet and Microsoft‘s Team. But, Zoom may be readying one more tool to take on these two.
Zoom is working on an email client, and a calendar app reports The Information. The two apps could debut as “Zmail” and “Zcal,” suggests the people familiar with the development. If the report is to be believed, these services could launch as soon as the end of this year.
The Information reports that the two services have been under development for two years. The Zmail and Zcal could be announced at the company’s Zoomtopia conference, scheduled for November this year.
While Zoom has become synonymous with video conferencing since the pandemic, it may still be hard to convince people to switch to their email service. People might use Zoom for meetings, but Gmail and Outlook are still two of the most-used mail clients. So, Zoom’s plan for workspace domination will have stiff competition upon its launch.
We have not heard anything from Zoom yet, so we suggest taking this lightly until Zoomtopia begins.
In another move to take on the likes of Google Chat, Microsoft’s Teams and Slack, Zoom revamped its messaging platform and gave it a new name — the Zoom Team Chat. Zoom says something was missing, which is why they had to change the name. According to Zoom, there are some new features that should ‘further’ enhance teamwork and collaboration.
