Paul Cattermole’s death aged 46 was sadly announced today by his family, with the nation sharing their heartbreak over the tragic news.

Hannah Spearitt, 42, is yet to officially comment on the tragic news but is said to be “devastated” over losing her ex, according to sources.

The singer is said to have “broken down” when given the shocking news.

A source told The Sun: “Everyone is in pieces. Hannah and the rest of the gang broke down when told what happened.

“No one can believe it. There is a real sense of horror and disbelief.”

A source further confirmed to MailOnline: “She is absolutely devastated.Hannah is inconsolable. This came as a massive shock, and she is struggling to believe he is no longer with us.

“Just as they rekindled their friendship, the worst happened. The band is all in pieces.

“They were all looking forward to the reunion tour and reliving their amazing memories together. Paul has been and always will be a huge part of Hannah’s journey. “Right now, she is just beside herself.”

This comes as Hannah finally ended her feud with the late Paul after the pair had previously dated.

A source told the MailOnline: “Hannah and Paul met in January to resolve their issues following years of disputes.

“They have sorted out their differences and are even on good terms now for the first time since they can remember.

“The whole group are doing the reunion tour and it was important for them to move forward so no one felt awkward.

“Everyone wants this to be a time for all involved to relive the magic and make great memories.”

Paul and Hannah met prior to their S Club 7 days, both being members of the National Youth Music Theatre in 1994 when Cattermole was 17 and Spearritt was 14.

In 1999 they were both selected as members of a seven-member pop group named S Club 7.

But it wasn’t until May 2001 that their friendship turned romantic.

They kept their relationship a secret for the first six months before making a public announcement in November 2001.

The pop stars dated until 2006 before getting back together in 2015, but they split shortly after.

The former couple had struggled to see eye to eye over the years after Paul accused Hannah of “replacing” him with Primeval actor Andrew-Lee Potts, who she dated while starring in the drama.

Paul also claimed to suffer a loss of earnings after becoming the first member of S Club to leave the band in 2002 and said he felt Hannah “prioritised her career” over their relationship.

The late singer was confirmed to be part of an upcoming 25th-anniversary tour but was found dead on Thursday afternoon at this home in Dorset.

In a statement released to the PA news agency, Paul’s family and S Club 7 said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole.

“Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

“While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police have confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances.

“Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time.”
