We Need More Star Wars Hasbro Reveals Like the Endor Bunker Playset

It was in 1983 that movie-goers got to witness the final Star Wars film (at the time) Return of the Jedi. In 2023 that legendary film will hit its 40th anniversary, which should be a pretty big deal. A significant event like this deserves some nice collectibles to celebrate, and with plenty of vintage toys in its past, that should be pretty easy. However, the Hasbro Star Wars team has really been dropping the ball lately by giving fans nothing but re-releases, repaints, and repacks. So far, the Return of the Jedi event has been a letdown with figures we have received plenty of times in the past.

As a massive Star Wars fan, it is kind of sad to see the team behind these toys not really focusing on major hits. It is crazy that we have not seen any collectibles for Star Wars: Visions or more additions to The Book of Boba Fett. Hell, The Book of Boba Fett has a massive $250 playset dropping in the Summer of 2023, and only two figures exist for the line with Fennec and Boba. Thankfully, hope is still there as Hasbro is not out of fun ideas just yet as they debut the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Endor Bunker playset. This is an upgrade version of the Power of the Force release from back in the 90s with better deco, better sliding doors, and a bigger size.

While an Endor Bunker playset is not the craziest thing in the world, a brand new card-backed figure is included. The Endor Rebel Commando in Scout Trooper Disguise makes his debut captured from a single scene in the film. It releases like this that should be part of the Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary line. The film’s impressive fanbase and history should be celebrated, and Star Wars toys are a big part of that. The Endor Bunker is a diamond in the rough, and $60 for this playset is not bad compared to what else we have seen. I hope Hasbro can change its tune around the Star Wars line and put some real heart behind it, which it desperately deserves. For fans who want the Endor Bunker, pre-orders can be found located here at 1 PM EST (12/7/2022) and at most major retailers.

“Located at an Imperial outpost on Endor’s forest moon, the Endor Bunker housed the shield generator for the Empire’s second Death Star. To breach its walls, the Rebels devised a plan. The figure features premium detail and design across product and packaging inspired by the original Kenner line, as well as the entertainment-inspired collector grade deco. Includes playset, figure and instructions.”
