‘Worked like magic’: Woman completely transformed by facial tweakment but issues warning

Susan Marshall, 49, noticed that her face was drooping slightly with age and she had started to develop jowls. She spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about how a minor facial treatment has given her a mental boost and taken years off her face.

Susan told Express.co.uk that around one year ago she noticed her face had “fallen” slightly.

“I used to have really great cheekbones and then all of a sudden I had jowls, and I was just like, ‘Oh good Lord, what has happened, where have my cheekbones gone?'”

Susan then started to notice some vertical lines appearing on her cheeks when she smiled.

Suddenly having jowls and lines dented Susan’s confidence and made her more “self-conscious” about her appearance.

She revealed: “I wasn’t too happy. I’m in a customer-facing role and I just wanted to get a bit of confidence back.

“Looking in the mirror every day and seeing this happen, it was knocking my confidence a lot.”

Susan decided to take the plunge after about a year of being unhappy with her face, and opted for Ros Medics in Cardiff to help with this, opting for filler in her cheeks.

She had been visiting the clinic for a few years for botox in her forehead and was always happy with the results, so she knew she was in safe hands.

But the decision did not come lightly to Susan: “I was also very scared, I’ll be honest with you, because obviously you’re altering your face.”

But her fears were alleviated by the understanding, professional Dr Ros who took her through the process.

The treatment “literally just took a couple of minutes” and Susan was left looking and feeling fresh faced, even returning to work that afternoon.

Susan has had three appointments in total – costing £600 overall – with just small amounts of filler to “built it to the point where I look basically like I did like five years ago”.

She continued: “It just it just lifted the skin on my cheeks, so the vertical lines disappeared.

She was advised that results would last from between 18 months to two years, and that she could come again then should she want to.

Susan described the results of the cheek augmentation as “quite magic for me”.

And she was extremely happy that she got the “natural” look she was after; indeed, nobody seemed to notice she had had anything done.

Susan revealed that she had a big conference coming up which was an incentive for her to go ahead with the treatment at Ros Metics.

Here she felt “confident”, whereas before she may have wanted to “hide” her face or “pull her hair over it”.

Getting tweakments is not for everybody and it should be considered carefully before going ahead with.

Susan offered some advice to anyone thinking about cheek augmentation or cosmetic treatments.

She urged people to “find someone qualified who knows exactly what they’re doing – not one of your friends’ friends’ friends”.

She also warned women of practitioners who will over-prescribe and suggest you need treatments that you actually do not.

Finally, she stressed the importance of only going ahead if you have the money for it, not going into debt.
